The Liberal Party in Canada recently gathered to rebuild its struggling organization, after a disastrous campaign in the last parliamentary election. Two topics were a hot button issue, as the party looked to re-establish its vision and political views. On the table was the debated and contested “legalization of marijuana” and “separation from the monarchy”.

As delegates convened to vote on these issues, it was decided that the Liberal party would move forward supporting the legalization of pot, however; rejected support for severing from the monarch. Hopefully the Liberal’s will clarify their position on the legalization of marijuana, as the issue is complex given Canada’s geographic proximity to the United States.
